Samantha Engel holds a Ph.D. in language and communicative disorders from the SDSU/UCSD joint doctoral program. Her areas of expertise include child language development in the context of language disorders, cultural and linguistic variation, and brain injury. Her research examines why some aspects of language are more difficult to understand than others, with a focus on how listeners process spoken language in real-time.
