When do classes
start? When do classes end?
We list beginning and ending dates with each class description.
These dates will also be on the confirmation letter sent to
you after you register. In some instances, there may be special
activities, but these are clearly stated in the course schedule.
Who teaches the
classes?
Retired and current SDSU professors, other distinguished educators,
and subject matter experts.
How much does membership
cost?
It is $35 per person per year; $50 for a couples membership.
A year is three terms. (For example, if you start in Spring
2006, you also are a member in Fall 2006 and Summer 2006.
You would renew your membership in Spring 2007). Membership
includes special benefits, lectures, and lower course fees.
What is the price
per class?
The fee for each class, activity, or program is included with
the course description. Fees are based on what it costs the
Institute to run the class and on a minimum enrollment for
that particular class.
Do you ever cancel
classes?
If we do not have sufficient enrollment to cover class expenses,
we will have to cancel it. You can help insure a "go"
class by recruiting others to join you in the class. If we
cancel a class, you can move to another class or we will reimburse
you for the course fee.
Where do I park?
Parking is very easy, convenient, and included with your course
enrollment. Your confirmation letter serves as your parking
permit. Parking is in Parking Structure II, which is right
next to the building where the classes are held.
What about refunds?
If I don't want to use the membership benefits, can I get
a price adjustment?
The $35 or $50 membership fee is not refundable, nor can it
be prorated or adjusted. We include a complete description
of the course refund policy in the brochure and on our web
site, http://www.ces.sdsu.edu/osher,
under membership and registration.
May I give a gift
of an Osher Institute membership or a class?
We have gift certificates and would be glad to provide you
with more information. The gift of learning is an essentially
meaningful gift for someone retiring, for Father's or Mother's
Day, a birthday, or simply to say, "you've taught me
a lot through your example."
Is the classroom
wheelchair accessible?
Yes.
How can my group
get a speaker, someone to staff an information table, or brochures
on the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute?
Contact us at the information below.
How do I get other
questions answered?
Email osher@mail.sdsu.edu
or call (619) 594-2863.
