Engineer-In-Training Examination Review
This lecture series will assist aspiring engineers in preparing for the national Fundamentals in Engineering Examination (FE/EIT) given by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers on October 24, 2009.

Please note the filing deadline for the October 24, 2009 test is August 24, 2009. Apply to take the exam online at www.pels.ca.gov.

This expanded review series consists of 16 lectures reviewing the eight major subject areas covered by the examination. The lecturers are full-time professors of engineering at SDSU or professionals from the community; each will speak on his field of expertise and be available for consultation with students.

New course Offering California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Workshop for Students
The CEQA Workshop for Students is the first building block to understanding how to use and implement the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and how it is implemented by local agencies. Completion of the workshop will provide students with a strong base to develop further CEQA knowledge. This training, which will focus on practical real-world applications, will enhance the resume of each participant to demonstrate their mastery of the preeminent environmental regulation/process in California.

Students who complete the course will receive a free copy of the "2009 CEQA Statute and Guidelines" generously provided by the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP). The workshop is a joint effort between the AEP and the Geography Department at SDSU.

Instructor: Kent Norton has over 30 years of experience in CEQA and NEPA compliance and is currently the branch manager and director of environmental services for Michael Brandman Associates, a full-service environmental consulting firm in San Bernardino. He is currently the State President of the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) and a member of the National Association of Environmental Professionals. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in biological science and a Masters of Science degree in environmental studies with an emphasis in urban and regional planning from CSU, Fullerton.
