San Diego State University’s College of Extended Studies will be offering two all-day Saturday classes as part of its Professional Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning program during the month of December.
Courses include:
Starting Your Own Business in the Meeting and Event Planning Industry, Saturday, Dec. 3, 9 am-4 pm
This introductory class will explore the basics of building a business, from building your reputation and potential client base, to creating a business plan, effective marketing, available resources, and the necessary steps to help you succeed. Before taking this course, it is recommended that you have prior experience in the industry or the completion of at least seven Meeting and Event Planning Certificate classes.
International Meeting Planning, Saturday, Dec. 10, 9 am-4 pm
This class is designed for meeting planners who manage programs outside the United States for U.S. or international attendees. People interested in taking this course should have some general understanding of meeting planning basics. Prerequisites for this course include Food and Beverage Planning; Site Selection and Contract Negotiation; and Financial Management of Meeting and Events.
