The EC-Council's Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) credential is a vendor-neutral certification in the specific network security discipline of Ethical Hacking. Ethical Hacking is the practice of trying to break into information systems for the purposes of testing security and exposing weaknesses that need to be addressed. A Certified Ethical Hacker is a skilled professional who uses the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker to look for the weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems.

Students must pass the Certified Ethical Hacker Certification Exam to obtain the Certified Ethical Hacker credential.

Eligibility to write the Certified Ethical Hacker examination is determined via two channels of which this training qualifies for the first:
Self- study channel: To qualify for the self-study channel you must obtain a voucher number from the EC-council. This requires completion of an eligibility application form which is sent to the EC-council for approval. Eligibility criteria includes a mandatory record of two years information security related work experience that must be endorsed by your employer. In case you do not possess the work experience you may qualify by sending the EC-council a request detailing educational background and request for consideration.
EC-Council Accredited Training Center (ATC) channel: To qualify for the EC-Council Accredited Training Center (ATC) channel, candidates must have attended CEH training at any of the EC-Council's Accredited Training Centers (ATC)
