San Diego alone is home to over 9,000 nonprofit organizations ranging from large educational institutions and hospitals to small, start-up agencies. All of these organizations must compete for funding in an increasingly challenging funding environment. In addition, many for-profit companies, particularly those that work with the government and public institutions, prepare and submit grants because of declining state funding. Grant writing is a key component of securing funding for many of San Diego's most dynamic organizations.<br /><br />
To complete the <strong>Professional Certificate in Grant Writing</strong>, complete two courses: <em>Introduction to Grants and Funding Research</em> and <em>Grant Proposal Development.</em>
<strong>Market Driven Demand</strong><br />
Learn why the need for additional training capacity in comprehensive grant writing, research, and strategies for funding proposals are so important in securing funding for programs, initiatives, and other organizational needs.<br /><br />
Students will learn a four-step process that starts with the basics (making sense of the request for proposal), moves through developing a compelling program and budget, and ends with the submission of a flawless proposal.<br /><br />
Students will learn how to construct a proposal that is clear and persuasive in it's "ask" and resonates with the priorities of the foundation or in response to federal Requests for Proposals (RFP) from agencies such as the Department of Education, Health and Human Services, Department of Labor, and others.<br /><br />
