Becoming a member of the Osher Institute allows you to maximize your experience as a lifelong learner.
Membership benefits include:

- Eligibility to register for Book Clubs, Camera & Stage Productions Clubs, Special Events, and Edventures

- SDSU library privileges 7 am-6 pm (requires knowing your Student RedID number, but a Red ID card is not needed)
*Early registration is a benefit offered to those who were members during the immediately preceding term. This is your opportunity to register early just in case the classes you want fill up quickly. You will receive an approval code via email (or mail) which will allow you to register during the early registration period.
The membership fee is $20 per person, per term.

Optional RedID Card
An SDSU RedID card is available for $18 per semester as an additional option for members interested in the following:
- Special student pricing at area theaters, museums, and cultural facilities
- Discounted monthly fee (affiliate rate) at the Aztec Recreational Center – call (619) 594-7529 for more information
Note: All students will be issued a Red ID number at time of registration; obtaining a RedID card is optional, and is not a requirement to participate in the Osher Institute.
To obtain your RedID card for the first time, check in at the Registration/Cashiers windows (on the Hardy Avenue side of the Gateway Center building) and then walk over to the RedID Card Office in the Student Services West building (room 2620) to get your picture taken. Once you have your new RedID Card, you can renew it for subsequent semesters at the College of Extended Studies Registration/Cashiers windows.
