Course Descriptions
Approach the green building process from both the contractor’s and subcontractor’s points of view, which allow industry professionals to gain key insights to effectively bid, contract, build, and close out green building projects; understand risks of green construction and learn how to reduce those risks, and study how green building impacts the construction process, project closeouts, and commission, and how to work with outside commissioning authorities.
Prerequisite Information
Requires a computer with Internet access.
Learn the system used in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for New Construction (LEED-NC) and how it affects the design and construction processes – the environmental aspects of LEED are emphasized in environmental impact, energy, and indoor air quality that pertain to both the building projects and the surrounding community; understand and identify how to choose and maintain a sustainable site meeting the five LEED qualifications.
Courses are offered in cooperation with the San Diego Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America.
