SAN DIEGO, Wednesday, May 1, 2013 – SDSU's College of Extended Studies has appointed Francesca Ringland as the interim associate dean for programming.
Ringland, an SDSU alumni and native San Diegan, joined Extended Studies in 1986. Since that time she has worked in a variety of roles focusing on program development and administration.
During her time with the College, she has had many opportunities to work in close collaboration with such groups as SDSU academic colleges, departments, and faculty, with San Diego school districts and the U.S. military community, and with San Diego businesses to provide customized programs for nontraditional life-long learners.
Ringland's work experience developing certificate and degree programs, online education, international programs, professional development, and conferences will enable her to immediately make an important contribution to the overall programming operation of the College.
SDSU's College of Extended Studies reaches out to the greater San Diego community, the nation, and the world with a wide variety of lifelong learning classes, seminars, and certificate programs. Career advancement courses are offered in many areas of management, leadership, and quality improvement while self-enrichment courses range from accounting to web design. Additionally, the College offers more than 50 certificate programs, online courses, and many other learning opportunities.
