Lifelong Learning Program Features 'Islam
and the West'
SAN DIEGO, Thursday, February 8, 2006 - Islam and the West is among
the 11 classes being offered by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
at San Diego State University's College of Extended Studies during
the spring 2007 semester.
The spring schedule also includes two members-only events, four
special guest lectures, and travel experiences. Islam and the West
will take place Wednesdays, April 18-May 16, 9-11 am, at the new
SDSU Extended Studies Center.

Laura Simon, still alive and well at age 101, will discuss her
philosophies of life and her recently published book "I'm Still
Here," Friday, March 2 from 9-10:30 am during the first of
two events open to members only. Simon began writing her most recent
book at age 92 and completed it just before her 101st birthday.
She has won numerous awards from the San Diego Press Club and is
an award-winning artist, sculptor, and ceramicist.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers stimulating noncredit
courses taught by experienced instructors for people 50 and better
without the stress of grades or tests. Classes are held on the SDSU
campus during the day, with convenient parking right next to the
Extended Studies Center where the classes take place.
This is a San Diego State University Research Foundation program
managed by SDSU's College of Extended Studies.
SDSU's College of Extended Studies offers a wide variety of lifelong
learning classes, seminars, and certificate programs. Career advancement
courses are offered in many areas of management, leadership, and
quality improvement while self-enrichment courses range from astronomy
to web design. Additionally, the College offers over 35 certificate
programs, online courses, and many other learning opportunities.
