Coaching Leader Goldsmith Coming to SDSU for Jan. 20 Seminar

SAN DIEGO, Thursday, December 15, 2005 - Marshall Goldsmith, recognized by the American Management Association as one of 50 great thinkers and leaders in the field of management over the past 80 years, is coming to San Diego State University's College of Extended Studies on Friday, Jan. 20.

He will be among the panelists in the coaching for leadership seminar "Helping Successful Leaders Get Even Better!" from 7:30 am-noon in the SDSU Extended Studies Center.

Goldsmith is a world authority in helping successful leaders achieve positive, measurable change in behavior - for themselves, their people, and their teams. In this fast-paced session, he will describe why it can be so difficult for successful people to change.

He will then share the results of his recently-published research on leadership development; Leadership Is a Contact Sport that involved over 86,000 respondents in eight major corporations. He will also share a proven process for helping leaders develop themselves.

By the end of this interactive session, participants will:

  • Understand why behavioral change can be so challenging for successful people
  • Learn how to use a proven process to help develop as leaders
  • Gain coaching skills that help individuals and teams achieve positive, lasting change in behavior

Panelists also include Bert Edelstein, Ph.D., Edelstein Group; Doug Walker, M.A., DBM; and Debra Jacobs, M.A., Intellect, Inc. Moderator is Ken Masco, MBA, MCC, Business Systems Management.

This event is presented by SDSU's College of Extended Studies and Professional Coaches and Mentors Association (PCMA).
