CES Offers Trip to Baja Wineries in Guadalupe Valley
SAN DIEGO, Tuesday, April 26, 2005 - San Diego State University's College of Extended Studies (CES) is offering a one-day bus trip featuring tastings and guided visits at two Baja Wineries in Guadalupe Valley, Mexico, on Saturday, May 21.
This "Wine Making Behind the Scenes" course delivers true insight into how wine is made. Participants will visit two working wineries for the day to see the progression from the vineyard to the bottle. Insights from a master wine maker will contribute to the rich content of this class.
The day will end with wine tasting of the host winery's finest wines. From grape to table, participants will learn the philosophy, manufacturing, and operations of the wine business while gaining an understanding of regulatory issues pertinent to the industry. Transportation and lunch are included.
Features include comfortable bus service to and from SDSU, a bilingual guide who is a winemaker and wine distributor, and a gift bag with bottled water. Instructor Greg Martellotto is an international bon vivant. Following his studies at Stanford University, he embarked on a global tour to more than 40 countries on six continents. Along the way he learned four languages, attended cooking school in Italy, visited the major wine growing regions of the world, taught English in China, and worked for the United Nations as a public health consultant.
