College Offers Course on Sex, Religion,
and Politics
SAN DIEGO, Friday, September 24, 2004 - Individuals 50 years of
age and better will now be given an opportunity to talk about sex,
religion, and politics in a classroom setting offered by San Diego
State University's College of Extended Studies.
A course titled "The Impolite Subjects: Sex, Religion, and
Politics," will take place from 8:30-10:30 am Thursdays, Oct.
7-Nov. 11 through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in the new
Extended Studies Center.
This course offers a terrific opportunity to discuss stimulating
subjects in a comfortable setting. It is everything individuals
always wanted to know about sex, religion, and politics that other
professors wouldn't let them talk about.
In addition to the subjects in the title; history, philosophy,
the environment, and other topics selected by the participants are
covered. Students will explore science, rationality, and philosophy;
old and new controversies, cross-cultural comparisons, and new ideas
and old values.
The Osher lifelong Learning Institute offers grants to universities
to develop and implement lifelong learning programs. Among the other
courses offered by the College of Extended Studies are Religions
of the World; What is Language?; Keys To Robust Living; How to Win
the Race With Time: Anti-aging Weapons; An Introduction to Ancient
Greek Myth and Drama; Disease and History; and Medieval English
Literature.
