College Provides Business Programs to Serve Your Needs

SAN DIEGO, Wednesday, May 19, 2004 - If you are going to make it big in the business world, education is the key to your success. San Diego State University's College of Extended Studies offers numerous programs that can help you in this regard.

Business and Branding Development teaches everything students need to know about how businesses plan for success. From the initial business model concept to the ultimate moneymaking sales proposal, it's a truly one-of-a-kind program that's a rewarding blend of tried and true traditional business basics and creative, cutting-edge brand-first strategies.

This program is highly recommended for business professionals, and junior and senior undergraduate business students. It is essentially a must for anyone who's already in business, starting a business, or about to enter the business arena.

A program certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of all five required courses.

Classes include:

  • The Business Plan - This core course will make certain you have the knowledge to take your business from concept through to success.
  • Business Presentation Skills - You will learn how to become a confident public speaker and a polished presenter.
  • BRANDICAPPED? The Business is the Brand! - Students will come to recognize the difference between well branded and poorly branded businesses.
  • The Branding Plan - Here's where you will discover how to implement the strategy you have learned.
  • The Business Sales Proposal - This is the time when you actually put your plan into practice.

The professors are experienced business executives and skilled consultants. During the day, they perform the job in the business world that they teach at night; thus providing students with dynamic real-life, hands-on instruction.

The "E-business Essentials" certificate program is designed to help students keep pace with the Third Wave of the Web, which represents thousands of businesses that have been quietly, but rapidly increasing their online operations - resulting in higher sales and profits. The program delivers sound business strategies to owners and executives so they can manage online operations.

E-Business has become a central component of most established corporations, and is quickly becoming the backbone of many startups and small businesses. While the popularity of dot-com companies has greatly decreased, Internet usage continues to grow and offers attractive market opportunities for businesses.

Courses in the program include the following:

  • E-business Models and Strategies - Participants will evaluate online business models and identify how the Web can be used effectively in their organization.
  • Information and Internet Technologies for Business - This course is designed for non-technical managers so they can understand, evaluate, and implement cost effective Web technologies for their business.
  • Integrated Online Marketing - Students will learn how to create a dynamic marketing and effective plan for an online business.
  • Online Advertising and Promotion - This course goes beyond simple banner advertising and shows how businesses can use online promotions to attract more customers to their sites as well as to their traditional brick and mortar.
