Travel Writing Workshop on Tap in June
SAN DIEGO, Thursday, May 13, 2004 - Have you ever wanted to take
your travel experiences and turn them into profitable articles or
stories? San Diego State University's College of Extended Studies
presents a Travel Writing Workshop from 9 am-noon Saturdays, June
5 & 12 at the SDSU Gateway Center.
In this workshop you will learn how to develop your article and
essay writing skills, plus how to write compelling lead paragraphs
and descriptive passages, when to use quotes and facts, how to develop
a lively style, how to prepare your article or story for publication,
and tips on marketing your writing and those important editor contacts.
Instructor Karen Kenyon is the author of many personal experience
essays, feature articles, and travel articles that have appeared
in Newsweek, Redbook, and the Los Angeles Times. She is the author
of the memoir, Sunshower, and The Bronte Family: Passionate Literary
Geniuses, which was published last year.
Fee for the course is $82.
SDSU's College of Extended Studies offers a wide variety of lifelong
